Nigerian Governors Go On Spending Spree!


 If news in the past two weeks are anything to go by, then we can conclude that Nigerian State Governors are now living the lives of wealthy business moguls.
Few days after the news about the purchase of a new jet by the Rivers State Government went viral, the Akwa Ibom State government has equally confirmed that Governor Godswill Akpabio also owns a brand new jet.
He reportedly took possession of the $45 million jet in June 2012.
Akwa Ibom’s Commissioner for Information, Aniekan Ummanah in an interview confirmed that his boss bought the Gulfstream jet manufactured in 2011. However he insisting that it is Akwa Ibom State property, and not Godswill’s
Governor Akpabio’s jet with registration number N224BH, was purchased by the same Bank of Utah Trust account used by the Rivers State government.
Akpabio, it was gathered has travelled abroad in the jet regularly, especially to and within the United States.
It is unknown how many governors also own private jet but source within the aviation circles say a few others are secretly planning on buying theirs.
